African Mango Extract: Body-building

Everyone wants to have a nice body and not only for aspect of course. There are a million of actual reasons to hit the gym every day and work out until you can barely stand straight. But as any person passionate about body-building knows, lifting weights daily is only half the story. Eating healthy food in the right amounts is also extremely important. And depending on what you want from your gym program, be it weight losing or muscle building, you have to carefully build your diet around it. Or maybe simply hire a nutritionist to do this for you.

But even with good discipline and excellent diet, the results may be too slow for some. Maybe you are exercising because you want to look good when you go to the seaside this summer or win a stupid bet you made when you were drunk. And this is where supplements kick in. If you have the money for them of course, most being jaw-dropping expensive. They may help you achieve in 2 months what you would achieve in half a year, so it is not surprising at all that a lot of people seek the best supplement out there for their specific purpose. If you want to build big, nasty, scary muscles you will probably seek the best protein shake, but if you just want to lose weight as fast as possible then you want something that reduces body fat.
Nowadays there are a whole lot of products out there that claim to reduce weight in no time at all. And although most of them actually manage to live up to the expectations, because of the dangerous chemicals they contain, a price is paid. And that price usually means deteriorated health. Of course this problem can be avoided if all natural supplements are used. Even if they may not be even half as effective, they improve overall health, not endanger it.

Natural supplements are based on plants extracts, one of the most popular extracts being the African Mango tree one, which became widely known after Dr. Oz claimed it to have incredible effects on weight loss. In a study conducted in 2009, where the participants were divided in two groups, one that received the extract and one that received the placebo, researchers were able to show that there was indeed fat loss with the use of an African Mango seed extract. Obese patients taking 150 mg of the extract had a 6.3% decrease in body fat mass compared to the 1.9% decrease in the placebo group. This was without any interference or change in either diet or physical activity. The participants eating African Mango also showed improvements in cholesterol levels, LDL cholesterol and hunger hormones.

This is encouraging for those of you that want to lose weight, but you should keep in mind that this is not a replacement to proper exercise or diet. Also you may not lose as much weight as you would if you were using other supplements, but taking into account that only mild, rare side-effects were reported, it may be the better one.
